“Painting Everyday” is a habit that I have recently adopted. I searched for several years for some creative outlet that was convenient enough to take anywhere or pick up on the spur of the moment. I finally found a few options that satisfy my creative urge that I am excited to share with you. I have painted on a plane, a bus, in a car (as a passenger), on a hike, in a waiting room at the hospital, etc. It has become a passion to create “on the go”. It’s also a conversation starter which has become an opportunity to share ideas and passions with others. I will share my watercolor journaling ideas as well as how I travel with a limited palette of pastels. Adopting this method has allowed me to paint everyday which is something all artists should strive to do. Hope to see you Monday night at the meeting.
Do you feel like I do in August? I just want to sit on my deck with a cool breeze blowing, drinking a glass of peach tea, and enjoying God’s beauty!
Here’s what I am thinking about: Hope you got your entries into the fair, if not, there’s always next year. Don’t forget to reserve your table for the “Christmas on the Circle”. There will be NEW Gallery Rules effective for the last quarter. Be sure and review them, because we are asking for more money for studio fees, hanging fees for a panel, and donations for sketching on Tuesday evening. Remember, we’re trying to make money and STAY OPEN! If you have a complaint, check out gallery fees in other cities. Also, we’re getting a PHONE and WI-FI YAY!! We’re believing that our contract will be renewed for next year by the city. It’s only getting better, so please come by and hang some of your paintings. We have lots and lots of wall space. Hope to see you at the meeting Monday night. Kari’s an excellent artist and will have plenty to share!
So get up and get busy!
Up-dated Gallery Guidelines and Fees will be discussed at the August meeting. These up-dated procedures will be effective October 1st, 4th quarter.
