FINE ART SOCIETY OF MIDDLE GA
Welcome to our Website!
The Fine Art Society of Middle GA (FAS) is a non-profit organization founded in January of 2000. We are based in Warner Robins, Georgia serving the counties of Houston, Peach, Crawford, Bibb and Jones. FAS presently has over 80 active members dedicated to fostering and supporting fine arts through workshops, programs, youth recognition and shows. We hold monthly meetings and are a very active organization in supporting fine arts in middle Georgia. Membership is open, not only to artists, but to anyone with a love of art. Among our members are amateur artists as well as professionals in various fields such as portrait, oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, sculpture, pottery, photography and illustration. Members artists are represented in over nine galleries n the area, and have won state and national recognition.
A number of members teach art classes in the Warner Robins area to students and adults. Information on art instruction is available in our section on Classes. Free life drawing classes, open to the public, are offered each week by the Fine Art Society at the Nola Brantley Library in Warner Robins. FAS organizes and sponsors a large annual Student Arts Scholarship Awards show with participating students from 5 area high schools and 10 middle schools. In addition to FAS sponsored programs, we partner with local businesses by displaying member art in business locations for employees and customers to enjoy.
Members come together to share their skills and foster art. You can find members at a day of fun traveling to an art workshop out of town, painting at a member's home in plein aire, organizing art shows, or sharing a road trip to the High Museum in Atlanta.
The Fine Art Society is at the beginning of an active building campaign to establish a Community Arts Center that will meet the needs of members, as well as give back to the community through cultural events, classes, and overall support of the arts in middle Georgia.
